It’s National Drive-in Movie Day! Many of us remember spending summer nights at the local drive-in, curled up in the driver’s seat to watch the latest summer hit on the silver screen. This summer you can bask in nostalgia and create new memories at these eight Michigan drive-ins!

Capri Drive-In

Located in Coldwater, this 1,000 car drive-in has two screens and is open seven nights a week from March to October. They have a sizeable snack bar, and a second lane for busy nights.

Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theater

This theater in Honor, MI has been providing shows, food, and entertainment since 1954! The Cherry Bowl has a playground, volleyball net, 50s style putt-putt golf course, home run derby, and gift shop full of vintage movie knick-knacks. Get there early and participate in the tailgate party with chicken, pizza, and freshly popped popcorn!

Danny Boy’s Drive-In Movie Theater

What makes this Ionia drive-in special? Their high-tech inflatable movie screen. It’s 70 feet wide, 35 feet high, and water resistant! Unlike many other drive-in theaters, Danny Boy’s offers a $5 “snack permit” which allows you to bring as many snacks as you want to the show. This theater has pre-show entertainment that varies from day to day, some of the highlights include a petting zoo, bounce house, and celebrity appearances!

Getty 4 Drive-In Theater

You can listen to the show with your car’s radio or use the nostalgic drive-in speakers at this Muskegon theater. The Getty-4 is open nightly at 7:45, offers a playground and arcade room for the kids, and has a self-serve concession stand stocked with all the classic theater food.

Hi-Way Drive-In Theater

Located in Carsonville, the Hi-Way drive-in theater is one of Michigan’s oldest operating drive-ins! They offer a safe environment for people of all ages to enjoy the show, and a concession stand serving pop, popcorn, hot dogs, and more.

Ford Drive-In

The Ford drive-in is America’s largest drive-in movie theater with 9 screens and space to fit 2,500 cars! Located in Dearborn, this theater is open year-round. You can choose to listen to the film with your car’s radio or with the drive-in speakers. Concessions are provided as well.

US 23 Twin Drive-In

This Flint theater recently underwent some renovations to make your experience more enjoyable. The Us 23 Twin Drive-In theater shows double-features on three screens nightly, so stick around for two shows and some yummy concessions!

5-Mile Drive-In

This Dowagiac theater is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day and features a playground for kids to run off their energy before showtime.
